Artist's Description
Peninsular Bighorn Sheep found while hiking along the Borrego Palm Canyon Trail in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California, USA. A beautiful Bighorn Sheep was standing near us. I was able to get many photos but I found this one to be the most unique I've seen of a Big Horn Sheep. He was hiding in the mountains along our hike and I decided to capture this silhouette of him to show how skillfully they can hide themselves within their environment.

Thanks everyone! This image was a finalist for the 2012 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition that is based in London, England. The Bighorn Sheep are an endangered animal at the moment. This one was photographed in Borrego Springs, California, USA.
